The monuments were amazing - and humbling. We did leave all the French money we had (francs and centimes at the time)!<br />You've inspired me to return as I would love to visit Pere Lachaise cemetery :-)Stephanie Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16071958445763105060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8867529070283476350.post-25559611849201196942017-01-11T15:49:08.431+00:002017-01-11T15:49:08.431+00:00Oh, they sound brilliant! I think this is the way they can compete against the chains - being quirky and holding author events. I shall definitely add those bookshops to my list - great post! xLouise Marleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09798055811380557773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8867529070283476350.post-43464489022059624332017-01-11T15:47:04.239+00:002017-01-11T15:47:04.239+00:00Thank you, Anita! The stock was made up of the kind of books I love to read - lots of favourites! If you love cute rambling bookshops, then visit Scarthin Books if you're ever in the Peak District. Cromford itself is well worth a visit, with its own visitor attractions and very close to the Transport Museum, Matlock and Matlock Bath. The bookshop stocks both secondhand and new books in a labyrinth of rooms, as well as funky stationery - and it also has its own café and cat :) Actually, why am I bothering to waffle about it? It's all here: http://www.alison.runham.co.uk/2011/09/08/on-hoilday-in-a-bookshop-part-one/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11955468904796560401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8867529070283476350.post-20289233159363115702017-01-10T10:36:59.992+00:002017-01-10T10:36:59.992+00:00I love Paris, and could spend hours in the Louvre-...I love Paris, and could spend hours in the Louvre-always get lost when I visit as it is huge! Sounds like a fantastic trip, and the book shop looks wonderful. Hope you have a better year in 2017, Louise xAnita Chapmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08643609708390860371noreply@blogger.com
